Cast the Shells
Before coins, the question was put to cowrie shells. Six casts of three
shells build a hexagram line by line, bottom to top — the same arithmetic the 周易 has used
for three thousand years. Shells that fall open count three, closed count two.
The oracle answers a situation, not a wish. A question you could act on gets the most useful reading.
